FUGITIVE (TEMPORARY) ADHESIVES
Description
These waterbased adhesives were developed to provide temporary paper-to-paper bonds. When coated on paper and then immediately applied to a second sheet, the sheets remain bonded until subsequently peeled apart. Different paper substrates may require modified products.
Usage
It is important to mix the container thoroughly prior to each use. Do not apply over any inked areas if possible as the glue may pick at the ink. The fugitive adhesives perform best at room temperature. Applicator rollers or extruders should be kept clean. Maintain adequate level of adhesive in the pattern-gluer pan. Do not dilute adhesive unless absolutely necessary. Avoid generation of foam, which can result in poorer adhesion. Avoid excess adhesion application.
Clean up is easier when adhesive is wet. Hot water is recommended. Testing of adhesion and ease of peel should be made only after fully dried.
Storage
Store at room temperature. Avoid storage at excessively low temperatures for extended periods. Do not contaminate unused adhesives with foamy or dust laden used adhesives.
